Sanitary Napkin Project

In Haiti, like so many other countries, the financial burden for women to purchase feminine products is immense. Additionally, the lack of proper sanitation and disposal services means that used sanitary products are often left to contaminate water supplies and be consumed by animals, spreading disease and bacteria. In an effort to reduce trash waste and aid women, an effort is being made to create and distribute re-usable sanitary napkins all around Haiti.

These pads are made from various fabric materials, able to clasp to any underwear and then be removed, washed, dried, and reused! The Pure Water For the World project in Haiti recently contracted the women of CESAH's vocational night school to create 550 sanitary kits, at a cost of around $9 per kit. These kits will be distributed throughout Leogane to communities in need. The CESAH group has also completed a project for Rotary International, which distributed 500 kits around Port au Prince and Jakmel.

How They're Made:

Donate Supplies

The cost of fabric and materials in Haiti is constantly increasing, so one of the best ways you can help is to donate fabric and supplies. We are looking for:

  • Patterned Light Fabric

  • Felt or Thicker Fabric for the Liner

  • PUL Fabric for the Liner

  • Thread, Buttons, Clasps, Etc.

If you would like to donate any of the following, contact us and we will pick it up and ship it!

Sponsor A Project

Just like Rotary International and The Pure Water Project, you can sponsor a project and we will take care of the rest! You can choose from options of where to donate the kits, and receive updates and images upon their completion and distribution. At a cost of $9 per kit you can supply
